When we wave our child off to battle with their biggest challenge yet, their GCSE exams, what do we want them to feel? We want them to be confident that they can achieve. We want them to feel knowledgeable about the exam and how to tackle it. We want them to be armed with the necessary skills and techniques to get the best possible grades.

Unfortunately, the breadth of the GCSE English Language and English Literature exams means that much English lesson time at school is spent reading and studying the 15 poems, 2 plays and one novel that they need to know thoroughly. Often, despite English Language success being a necessity for many pupils, there is just not enough time spent on it. My aim is to fill in the gaps and to provide methods to enable teens to have that confidence, the knowledge and skills.

Courses are available for all 4 main areas of the AQA GCSE English Language course. September's courses are on Paper 1: READING FICTION and WRITING STORIES AND DESCRIPTIONS.

 

Modules are designed to cover all aspects of the quarter of the English Language examination.

Each of the four courses will give you access to: 

• 12 weeks with me as your personal online English tutor

• a minimum of 8 core lessons - pre-taught on video and via online workbooks so that they can be completed when it suits you

• bonus lessons sent to you to deal with your own specific needs

• a weekly check of work completed and feedback to parents using a traffic light system and video clips with detailed feedback

• lifetime access to my online membership area for revision.
